Case Study
Company:
  • $40 million manufacturer of Custom full line automation equipment.
  • Client is a 40 year-old family oriented culture with around 100 employees.
 
Challenges:
  • Small company culture where each person needs to have multi-functional duties and be very flexible with responsibilities on projects.
  • Not many companies within a commutable distance that develop full line automation equipment (no relocation offered for the role).
  • Need someone with experience in both managing large scale projects ($1mm+) and knowledge in designing full scale automation systems.
 
Strategy:
  • Intake call from hiring authority, we aligned to get clarity on the non-negotiables of functional and cultural skills.
    • 1) ME design background with automation equipment
    • 2) Managing resources of project in excess of $1mm+
    • 3) Managing a project from a concept to final customer install.
  • Identify a list of target companies (within 35 mile radius of customer site) that design automation equipment.
 
Engagement:
  • Reach out to all Mechanical Engineering talent at target list of companies (that make automation equipment) via Social Media/Internal Database/Online boards/Postings.
  • Conduct surface qualifying (phone/email) of 30-40 potential applicants.
  • 2nd level screening to qualify cultural/functional/compensation “fit”. 
 
Results:
  • 5 resumes presented
  • Interviewed 4 candidates onsite. Brought 2 candidates back in for a 2nd round interview
  • Offer Extended and accepted within a week
